A clear blue day along the shore of Shelter Island. We walked the rocky edge of the bay, with the water sparkling, boats drifting past and the city skyline sitting low on the far side.
Along the way there’s a sign showing the Navy ships you can spot in the bay, and at the end of the walk the Friendship Bell under its pagoda roof, surrounded by palm trees.
Easy, free, and one of the calmest walks in San Diego.
