Most of the time the planes come straight in. This one gave us a better view.
From beside the airport fence, we watched it drop out of the clouds and bank across the sky, wings tilted and every light on, close enough to see the shape of the whole aircraft against the dark. Then it straightened out and slid down behind the billboards and streetlights toward the runway.
