Plane spotting at night is mostly waiting. You stand by the airport fence, look up into the low clouds, and watch for a bright point of light that slowly gets bigger.
In this clip you can see it happen. The landing lights appear out of the haze, grow brighter, and finally turn into a full aircraft passing over the billboard and the late-night 7-Eleven at the corner.
It’s a simple thing, but every arrival still feels like a small event.
